Second Suspect in Bank Robbery Arrested

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – A second wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Virgie , Ky. has been arrested.

Kentucky State Police arrested Anthony Gillespie, 25, of Grethel without incident at his home Monday night.

Troopers say Gillespie and Claude Isaac, 35, of Hi Hat robbed the U.S. Bank branch in Virgie on Nov. 13.

In late November, a Pike County grand jury indicted both men on charges of 1st degree robbery, theft by unlawful taking, and being persistent felon offenders in connection with the bank robbery..

Gillespie also faces additional charges of robbery, kidnapping and assault in connection with an unrelated incident in Floyd County.

State Police considered Gillespie to be dangerous and warned the public to not confront him.

Troopers say community members helped them locate Gillespie.

He is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police say in the bank robbery one of the men entered the bank, the other man waited outside on an ATV.

Troopers say the man that entered the bank showed a weapon during the robbery.

Issac was arrested earlier this month while sitting in his pickup outside a store in Bypro.

He is being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
