ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) – Kentucky State Police say they had to TASER an Ashland man they were trying to arrest on a drug charge.
Troopers say the incident began when they went to arrest 38-year-old Stephen Skaggs at his residence Wednesday night.
They say Skaggs was standing outside his residence and attempted to flee on foot when the officer arrived on the scene.
During a short foot purist, the trooper deployed his TASER to stop Skaggs.
The original warrant charges Skaggs with trafficking in a controlled substance. He now faces additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing and evading, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and possession of heroin.
Skaggs is now in the Boyd County Detention Center.
