CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two women are dead after a head-on crash in Olive Hill, Ky.

According to a release from the Kentucky State Police, the accident happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday.

Pamela Carroll, 53, of Olive Hill, and Sharon Moore, 62, of Olive Hill, both died in the accident.

According to the release, Carroll was driving south on KY 2 and crossed the center line, colliding with Moore. The road was dry but the foggy weather was causing a slight issue with visibility.

Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Moore was transported to a Huntington hospital where she later died.

Both women were wearing seat belts, and according to the release, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

The crash is still under investigation.
