Two Hospitalized Following Wreck in Lewis County, Ky.

LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A crash near Tollesboro in Lewis County, Ky. sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night.

The Sheriff’s Office says a car driven by Jewell Walker, 50, of Tollesboro failed to yield at the intersection of State Route 57 and State Route 9 and then traveled a short distance before hitting an SUV driven by Michelle Teegarden, 46, Vanceburg.

Investigators say Walker's car then went off the road, struck a culvert, and flew about 55 feet in the air before landing on an embankment and flipping five times.

Walker had to be cut from her car by rescue crews. Both drivers were taken to a local hospital. Their is no word on their conditions.
