ADELE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A woman died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway.
Kentucky State Police say it happened Tuesday at 4:29 p.m. near the Morgan/Magoffin County line.
Troopers say 68-year-old Mabel Swafford, of Lexington, was traveling eastbound on the Parkway approaching a construction zone when she lost control of her 2004 Saturn Vue in a curve.
Her car came to a rest in the westbound lane when it was hit by a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 21-year-old Tyler Shepherd of Salyersville.
Both vehicles then went into the eastbound lanes.
Morgan County Coroner Raymond Vancleve pronounced Swafford dead at the scene.
Shepherd was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Troopers say Swafford wasn't wearing a seat belt. They say Shepherd was wearing his seat belt.
The Kentucky State Police post in Morehead is investigating the accident.
