Golf clubs have been a hot item for thieves lately.
Huntington Police tell us this time of year golf club thefts pick up because people tend to leave them in their car more.
The latest happened in the 1400 block of 15th, this was in Huntington last week.
Police say this is an easy fix, don’t leave them in plain sight.

Tools are also a common item stolen from cars or trucks as of late. Police say these are often targeted because they are easily pawned off. Just Wednesday Huntington Police say tools were taken out of a vehicle while the person was inside a Gino’s restaurant. It happened at 943 9th Avenue around three o’clock.

Only a few days ago a used car dealer was broken into and tools were stolen. This happened either Saturday or Sunday near 600 Washington Avenue.

Looking at car break-ins a few cars were broken into in Jake’s parking lot at 1438 4th Avenue. Huntington Police say the thieves primarily got away with electronics like iPods.

A drum set was taken from a van in the 600 block of 19th. Police say the drum set was worth about $1,500 dollars and was taken some time Tuesday or Wednesday.

Huntington police say a house was ransacked after a thief broke down the front door at 1645 Jefferson. This happened Wednesday and about a thousand dollars worth of jewelry was stolen.

Also, near 1900 Military road a woman came home while her house was being burglarized. Police say she walked in the kitchen and the man approached her. He told her he was with the police, and then he robbed her. Police say he choked her and then stole a high dollar piece of jewelry. Police used dogs to try and track the suspect.

Cash Express Pawn was also hit hard. Police say someone broke the front window at 707 Washington Avenue and stole digital camera and camcorders.
