Are there houses in your neighborhood that look just a little different from all the rest? Lustron Homes are relic residences made out of steel.
It was a vision of a company with a factory in Columbus, OH that hoped to churn out tens of thousands of modular homes after World War II.

Now preservationists are trying to make sure these homes are not doomed by the modern day wrecking ball.

i grew up in a small town in ohio and all my life i wondered why there was a metal house just out of town now 21 with my daughter asleep in my arms i watched a show tonight about lustron homes and seen that these home were metal and i finally realized and remembered that metal house so i got on line to see if that house was on here but i guess not but it sure is interrsting to not know about untill now !!

I think these homes are what people need, especially if they are low maintenance and keep out the rats!!!!!
