Here are the times & places you can find fireworks for the Fourth of July 2008 in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. If you have information about a fireworks display that is not listed here, click here to e-mail us the info.

List is ordered alphabetically by county name.

WEST VIRGINIA

Boone County
No display.

Braxton County
Gassaway: Saturday (7/5) @ downtown Gassaway. 10pm. Other activities: Gassaway Days (runs Thursday through Sunday).

Cabell County
Huntington: Friday (7/4) @ Harris Riverfront Park following Picnic with the Pops. The Picnic with the Pops concert has been moved indoors to the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Barboursville: Friday (7/4) @ Barboursville Park. 10pm.

Calhoun County
No display.

Clay County
Clay: Friday (7/4) @ Main Street. 9:15pm.

Fayette County
Fayetteville: Friday (7/4) @ City Park. 9pm.

Jackson County
Ripley: Friday (7/4) @ downtown Ripley. 10pm.

Kanawha County
Charleston: Friday (7/4) @ Haddad Riverfront Park. 10pm. Other activities: Rubber Soul takes the stage at 6:30pm. WV Symphony performs at 8:00pm.

Lincoln County
Hamlin: Friday (7/4) @ Hamlin Lion's Club Field. 9pm. Other activities: parade at 10am starting at Hamlin Community School; antique car show & games from 12-2pm; horseshoe tournament from 1pm-4pm; music from 6pm-9pm at Lion's Club Field.

Logan County
Logan: Saturday (7/5) @ downtown Logan. 10pm/dusk. Other activities: West Virginia Freedom Festival (click here for more info)

Chapmanville: Friday (7/4) @

Mason County
Point Pleasant: Friday (7/4) @ Tu-Endi-Wei Park. 10pm. Other activities: Sternwheel Regatta 7/3-7/6 (click here for more info)

Nicholas County
Summersville: Friday (7/4) @ North Side Development. Dusk. Other activities: live music (2 stages) & games starting at noon. Music will be in sync with fireworks.

Putnam County
Hurricane: Friday (7/4) @ Valley Park. 9:45pm. Parade @ 4pm on Main Street. Festivities from 5:30-9:30pm @ Valley Park.

Roane County
Spencer: Friday (7/4) @ downtown Spencer. 10pm. Spencer's 150th birthday, the biggest display ever.

Wirt County
No display.



KENTUCKY

Boyd County
Ashland: Friday (7/4) @ Riverfront Park. Dusk. Other activities: Summer Motion - 7/3 - 7/6 (click here for more info).

Greenup County
Greenup: Thursday (7/3) @ City Park. Dusk.

Lawrence County
Louisa: Friday (7/4) @ radio tower hill. 10pm. Watch from the plaza or the bank.



OHIO

Gallia County
Gallipolis: Saturday (7/5) @ City Park. 10pm.

Lawrence County
Coal Grove: Thursday (7/3) @ Paul Porter Park. Dusk. Other activities: Coal Grove Family Fun Days.

Scioto County
Portsmouth: Friday (7/4) @ Riverfront. 10pm. Fireworks will shoot from a barge on the Ohio River. Watch from Riverfront Park or South Shore.

I went to my sons house only 3 blocks away from camden park,,was cooking out at 9:39pm and others tried to put on a show, but when 10pm came,,, you heard a loud boom,~~!!!!!! You just knew it was time,,, everybody scrambled to get thier seat,, and even th0ugh it was raining,, the show went on,,, and what a show;,,,, just when you thought it was good,,, it got way better,,, and then when u thought it was over. here came another loud boom,,,, and more fireworks, just as you were ready to go to ur car the park let off the most amazing show that I have never seen in my 45 years,, Absoutly the best 4 of july I have ever been too ,,

The rudest people were at the fireworks display at the levee last night.We had to move because some drunk A.. woman would not shut her mouth....the fireworks were great though

Portsmouth's fireworks were postponed until tonight (7/5). I assume that they will still begin at 10.

I sat for over a half hour in Ripley tonight, and nothing happened.. It would have been nice to be told before driving over there.

Has anybody else heard that the fireworks have been cancelled in POrtmouth Ohio tonight? Someone told me they heard it on the radio, but I don't know if it is true or not. Please somebody let me know if you know anything

they normally let the chapmanville fireworks off at the high school around dusk, but you can call pretty much any of the local stores there to find out the exact time
