HAMLIN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Lincoln County has been arrested and charged with two attempted home invasions.
W.Va. State Police say 30-year-old Michael Keith Miller appeared to be drunk and high when he tried to break into two homes in Yawkey Monday evening.
Troopers say a woman inside the first home on Bear Fork Road fired a .40 caliber handgun at him after he threatened to rape her. Miller wasn't hit.
Miller then ran to another residence where he attempted to gain entry by punching a sliding glass door.
Troopers said small children lived in both homes.
No one was hurt.
Miller was charged with two counts of attempted burglary, assault, possession of a controlled substance, destruction of property, two counts of obstructing, providing false information to West Virginia State Police, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
He was taken to the Western Regional Jail.
