UPDATE 7/17/14 @ 6:30 p.m.
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Scioto County Sheriff's Deputies are releasing new information about a string of burglaries in that area.

Brison Shupert has been arrested and charged with two burglaries, but investigators say more charges are pending. Detectives say this all started back in June. They say Shupert targeted the homes of friends and family and other people he knew in West Portsmouth, Wheelersburg and Rosemount.

"He was very familiar with their homes," Scioto County Sheriff's Detective Denver Triggs said. "He had been inside them {before}."

Shupert's accused of stealing guns, jewelry, and other items. Police say he would then sell the items on local re-sale websites, like Tri-State Pickers, Scioto County pickers and other Facebook-affiliated websites, raking in thousands of dollars for the stolen items.

"Right now, we're looking at five cases," Det. Triggs said, "and there's more in Kentucky where we've recovered property that he had sold someone or had in his possession."

Investigators say they were tipped off by a victim who saw their guns on a re-sell website.

"The actual victim WHO HAD those items stolen from him recognized those items, and then it just snowballed from there," Det. Triggs said.

Sheriff's detectives are now asking anyone who may have purchased items from Shupert to come forward so they can return the stolen items to their rightful owners.

"We've already had people come forward and say, 'hey I don't want this if it's stolen,' Det. Triggs said, "and we appreciate them. That speaks volumes of that person."

Triggs says anyone who comes forward with the stolen items in this case will not be in trouble.
