GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A police chase involving an ATV ends with the rider arrested.
Gallia County Deputies arrested Jeremy S. Belville, 35, of Bidwell, Ohio, and charged him with fleeing a police official, driving under suspension, criminal trespass, and reckless operation.
Sheriff Joe Browning says deputies encountered Belville driving erratically along Georges Creek Road near the intersection of Polecat Road and tried to stop him, but he took off. This happened around 3:25 Tuesday morning.
After pursuing the ATV for more than a mile, Browning says deputies found Belville hiding in a cornfield near the ATV.
The Sheriff says Belville was in possession of “alprazolam” tablets. A felony drug charge is pending.
