LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman accused of robbing the Metro Cab Company in South Point has turned herself in.
The Lawrence County Ohio Sheriff's Office says on September 10, three people robbed the company located along County Road 410 in South Point.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless says each of the people were wearing dark clothing, with bandanas covering parts of their face.
The three were also armed with paintball and pellet guns and one of the suspects shot the attendant with a paintball gun.
Lawless says during the robbery the suspects took envelopes filled with cash and ran from the building.
"This was a serious situation that left the attendant injured by means of a dangerous weapon," Lawless said.
Friday, Sheriff Lawless says Leigha Paige Maynard, 20, of Chesapeake, turned herself in and confessed to her involvement in the robbery. She is charged with 2nd degree robbery.
Maynard was arraigned Friday and is being held on $25,000 bond in the Lawrence County Jail.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless says arrest warrants have been issued for the other two suspects.
"They have been able to stay just out of our reach but we hope to make more arrest(s) soon., " said Lawless
Their names are not being released at this time.
