PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man indicted back in 2012 for breaking into vehicles at the Lowes in Wheelersburg has been arrested again and charged with more vehicle break-ins at the same store.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini says detectives arrested Jeffery Thacker, 32, of South Shore, for petty theft and a failure to appear warrant from a 2012 indictment.
Donini says several shoppers reported thousand dollars of tools taken from their vehicles while they were inside the store on Ohio River Road earlier this month.
Detectives were able to obtain video from Lowes and confirmed the suspect was Thacker.
The Sheriff says Thacker was arrested in October of 2012 for breaking into vehicles at Lowes. He was later indicted and arraigned in Portsmouth Common Pleas Court and was out on bond.
Donini says during questioning following his recent arrest, Thacker admitted to breaking into four vehicles at Lowes between May 5 and May 10.
As a result, four counts of felony theft the have been taken to the Scioto County Grand Jury.
