ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man could spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering his father.
Paul J. Roberts, 41, of Glouster, Ohio, was in court in Athens County Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing.
During the hearing, Roberts changed his plea to guilty to aggravated murder, murder, gross abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft, theft from the elderly, vandalism and prohibited acts involving certificates of title.
Paul J. Roberts killed his father, Paul E. Roberts, 63, in October 2013.
The senior Roberts' body was found in a well under his home on Locust Street in Glouster. Investigators say he died from blunt force trauma.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn says that after Paul J. Murdered his father, he stole his father's 2004 Jeep Liberty, John Deere riding lawnmower and credit card.
Paul J. was sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole after 20 years.
