IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A police standoff has ended with a man killing himself.
Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless tells WSAZ.com that the incident began as domestic dispute between a father and daughter.
Several law enforcement agencies were called to a house in the 2700 block of County Road 181(Hog Run Road) about 3 p.m. Sunday after dispatchers received a call about a man driving by a residence and firing shots.
According to a news release, Sheriff’s Deputies, Ironton Police, Ohio Highway Patrol, Coal Grove Police and South Point Police ended up responding to the scene.
Sheriff Lawless says as the Coal Grove officer arrived at the house, the suspect got out of his pickup, which was parked in the driveway, and fired two shots at the residence with a handgun.
Lawless say the man then grabbed a high powered rifle, turned it towards the Coal Grove Police cruiser and fired three shots. One of the shots hit the cruiser before the officer was able to get out.
The Sheriff says the man then got back in his truck and shut the door. Responding officers then surrounded the truck and tried to talk to man, but that failed.
Lawless says officers then heard two more shots and saw the man slumped over in the truck.
No one else was hurt. The Sheriff says no officer fired a shot during the incident.
The man was 43 and from Waterloo, Ohio

Sheriff Lawless says the father fired two shots at a house along Hog Run Road from the driveway with a handgun. He then pulled out a high powered rifle and began firing at officers. One round did hit a police cruiser.
The father got back in his car and shot himself, according to the sheriff. No one else was hurt.

Dispatchers in Lawrence County, Ohio tell WSAZ.com a call came in about shots being fired at neighbors along Hog Run Road Sunday afternoon.
When troopers showed up, dispatchers say the man was armed with a gun in his car. When they approached, he opened fire, according to Lawrence County 911.
No word if anyone was hurt. Ohio State Highway Patrol is on scene. Troopers confirm it is a standoff situation.
