JACKSON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man who pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his older brother has learned his prison sentence.
25-year-old Matthew Dunaway was shot to death with a 12-gauge shotgun at the family home in Oak Hill, Ohio last June.
Last month his younger brother Dakota, 20, entered the plea on the same day his trial was supposed to start in Jackson County Common Pleas Court
On Tuesday, Dakota was sentenced to three years with time served. Court officials say he could be eligible for release in six months.
Dakota was originally charged with murder, but a grand jury came back with the voluntary manslaughter charge.
The shooting happened at the family home in Oak Hill, Ohio last June.

Monday, Dakota pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. It was the same day his trial was supposed to start in Jackson County Common Pleas Court. No word when he will be sentenced.

The Jackson County, Ohio Sheriff says 25-year-old Matthew Dunaway was killed. His younger brother, 19-year-old Dakota has been charged with aggravated murder.
The Sheriff says the shooting happened at the brother’s residence in the 6700-block of State Route 93 Wednesday night shortly before midnight. He says Matthew was shot at close range with a 12-gauge shotgun. No word on a motive.
Matthew Dunaway was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Dakota Dunaway will be making his initial court appearance on the murder charge Thursday afternoon.
He is being held in the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
