ALBANY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A couple who had their 18-month-old child with them at the time were arrested Wednesday in what Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly calls an “intercepted heroin shipment.”
David Barstow II, 34, and Shauntelle Barstow, both of Albany, were arrested after a traffic stop on Ohio 33 in Nelsonville.
Deputies with the Narcotics Enforcement Team searched the vehicle and found 13 unit does of heroin individually wrapped and a chunk of heroin.
Kelly said the heroin was headed to Albany.
The child was released to a family member. Both of the Barstows were taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
