UPDATE: Names Released in Meigs County Head-on Crash

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The names of two people seriously hurt in a head-on crash Wednesday on Ohio 7 have been released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Aaron M. Brooks, 24, of Chester, Ohio, was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 south on Ohio 7 when he went left of the center line and struck a northbound 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck head-on.

Diana S. Brewer, 59, of Pomeroy, Ohio, the driver of the pickup truck, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was listed in critical condition.

Brooks also suffered injuries and was taken by ambulance to Camden Clark Hospital where he was listed in fair condition.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. near Eastern High School.

The roadway was closed about an hour after the crash, which remains under investigation by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers.



UPDATE 9/25/13 @ 12 p.m.
MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- One lane of Route 7 in Meigs County is back open after a two-vehicle crash.

The crash happened near Eastern High School around 10 a.m.

Sheriff Keith Wood says two vehicles were involved and two people were flown from the scene to local hospitals.

No word when the other lane will reopen.

No other information is being released at this time.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office and Ohio Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.

MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Route 7 is closed in Meigs County after a two-vehicle crash.

It happened around 10 a.m. near Eastern High School.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office and Ohio Highway Patrol are on scene.

Sheriff Keith Wood tells WSAZ.com that two people are being flown from the scene to local hospitals.

Route 7 will be closed in both directions until further notice.

No other information is being released at this time.
