SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Five people have been arrested in connection with a break-in at a business in Franklin Furnace, where several large items were stolen.
The Scioto County Sheriff's Office says on July 21, the Pepsi Plant on Gallia Pike was broken into. A lawnmower, hedge trimmer, power washer and Pepsi products were stolen.
The Sheriff's Office continued to investigate this case and were led to a mobile home on Walburn Avenue in Franklin Furnace.
After several hours of trying to get into the home, two women answered the door, and Timothy Stapleton, 26, of Franklin Furnace, was found hiding in a small space that the water heater was stored in. Stapleton had got inside and a wall was placed in front of him and screwed into the wall of the closet.
Deputies say during the investigation, they were able to recover some stolen property from several cases around the area, including a computer, iPad, and 4-wheeler.
Stapleton is charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count of obstructing justice. He's being held on a $5,000 bond.
Danielle Caldwell, 18, of Franklin Furnace, is charged with one count of obstructing justice and being held on $2,500 bond.
Dreama Stapleton, 28, of Franklin Furnace, was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant out of Kentucky. She is being held without bond.
Matthew Steele, 36, of Franklin Furnace, was charged with tampering with evidence and is being held without bond on a parole holder.
Cody Stevens was already in jail on other charges. He is also charged with one count of breaking and entering and is being held without bond.
More charges could be filed.
