Former Gallia County Sheriff Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Former Gallia County James Taylor was hurt Friday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a van at the intersection of Eastern Avenue (Ohio 7) and Mill Creek Road, according to a Gallipolis Police report.

Taylor, 69, was flown by helicopter to Cabell Huntington Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

A second person on the motorcycle was taken to Holzer Medical Center for treatment.

The crash was reported just before 1 p.m. Friday.

Taylor was riding the motorcycle southwest on Eastern Avenue when the driver of the van pulled out from Mill Creek Road, saying he didn't see the motorcycle. The driver of the van was not hurt.
