UPDATE: Sex Offender Wanted in Gallia County Caught in Wellston

WELLSTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A sex offender, wanted in Gallia County, has been caught in Jackson County.

Wellston Police tell WSAZ.com that they picked up Jason Lendway about 8:30 Thursday morning.

Investigators have been looking for Lendway for a couple of weeks after the Gallia County Sheriff's Office reported that he failed to update his address. They believed he could be in the Wellston area.

Police tell WSAZ.com that Lendway had been staying at a home on East 12th Street.

Lendway has been transported back to Gallia County.

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Deputies are searching for a registered sex offender who they say failed to update his address.

According to the online sex offender registry, Jason Lendway, 36, was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Gallia County Deputies say he was living in the area, but failed to update his address, which is required by sex offenders.

Lendway is originally from the Cleveland area. Deputies believe he may be in Wellston. Ohio.
