GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A call center that employs more than 100 people in Gallipolis has announced plans to shut down.
InfoCision announced Tuesday the Gallipolis operation will be transitioning from a brick and mortar call center operation to a work from home operation.
112 people currently work at center on 3rd Avenue.
InfoCision says employees were told Tuesday afternoon they can remain with the company and work from their home, or transfer to the Huntington, W.Va. call center.
Employees who transition to the work-at-home program will maintain their current pay rate and benefits package.
"This virtual call center model positions us for future growth by allowing us to spread our reach throughout the region and provide employment opportunities to people who live a little too far away to drive to a physical location, but are every bit as skilled as any employee in our brick and mortar call centers,” said Steve Brubaker, InfoCision chief of staff.
InfoCision has operated in Gallipolis since 2000.
