BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A garbage truck crash on I-64 in Boyd County is causing problems for drivers heading west near Cannonsburg, Ky.
The crash happened about 6 a.m. on the section of the highway between the Cannonsburg off-ramp and the on-ramp. This is at the 185 mile marker.
Westbound traffic is be diverted off the exit and then right back on the interstate.
The driver told emergency workers that a truck traveling in front him blew a tire. He says that caused him to over-correct and his truck ended up on its side. No garbage spilled in the crash.
The driver was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. He has already been released.
Crews expect to have the highway cleared within the hour.
The truck belonged to the city of Kenova.
