IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A driver who hid more than half a pound of heroin behind a tail light in her SUV has been convicted of drug charges.
The Ohio Highway Patrol arrested Evelyn M. Robinson, 45, of Detroit, Michigan during an early morning traffic stop near Ironton in October 2013.
Troopers said the heroin had a street value of about $45,000.
Tuesday, a jury in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court convicted Robinson of possession of heroin and trafficking of heroin.
She was sentenced to 11 years Wednesday morning.
It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday, along US 52 near Ironton.
Troopers say the driver, Evelyn M. Robinson, 44, of Detroit, Michigan was arrested.
Robinson has been charged with possession of heroin and trafficking of heroin, both of which are felonies.
Troopers say the street value of the heroin is about $45,000.
