UPDATE: Stolen Horse Trailer Found Abandoned in Gallia Co.

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A stolen horse trailer has been found abandoned in Gallia County.

The trailer was stolen from a parking lot across from a hardware store on State Route 160 sometime on December 4 or December 5.

The theft was caught on a nearby surveillance camera.

Sheriff Joe Browning tells WSAZ.com the trailer was found in an old strip mine in the Crown City area Tuesday evening.

Browning says there is no apparent damage, but they are waiting to hear back from the owner to determine if anything is missing from the trailer.

The owner told investigators that he left the trailer in the lot because he was selling it. The trailer is worth about $15,000.

No arrests have been made.

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Gallia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a horse trailer theft.

The owner of the trailer says he dropped the trailer off at a parking lot across from a hardware store on State Route 160 to sell it.

Sometime between 11 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, and 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, the trailer was stolen.

The owner says it's an Integrity Goose Neck trailer, worth $15,000. It is a three-horse trailer with a tack room on the front.

The owner tells investigators that he found one of the "For Sale" signs on McCormick Road, and that it must have fallen off the trailer while it was being taken.

The theft was caught on surveillance camera.
