HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity will be hosting its first applicant seminar since expanding its service to Lawrence County, Ohio.
The seminar will be held October 4 at 6 p.m. at the Ohio University Proctorville Center.
In order to be considered for a Habitat home, individuals must attend the seminar and live in substandard housing. According to a release from Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity, examples of substandard housing include inadequate plumbing, poor heating, leaking roof, overcrowding(three or more to a bedroom), unsafe or unsanitary conditions and paying excessive rent. Residents of public housing are also encouraged to attend this seminar.
A seminar for Cabell County residents will be held later in October.
