IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) – The City of Ironton is under precautionary boil water advisory following a power failure that drained a main water tank.
Mayor Rich Blankenship tells WSAZ.com the advisory is in place until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Ironton City Schools and Ironton Catholic Schools are closed Tuesday because of the water problem.
Mayor Blankenship says customers will experience low water pressure until the tank is refilled which is being done manually and should take a couple hours..
Blankenship says the power failure was due to an electric line being accidentally cut by a person weed eating at the plant. That line has already been repaired.
