Lucasville Man Facing Meth Charges

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A Lucasville man is facing charges after deputies say he was making meth in a vacant home.

According to a release from Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini, Joseph Davis, 35, of Lucasville, Ohio, is being charged with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, illegal assembly or possession of chemical for manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal trespass and obstructing official business.

Deputies received a complaint that a vacant rental home was being broken in to. According to the release, when deputies went to the home they found Davis inside with an active "one pot" meth lab.

According to the release, Davis tried to escape out of the back of the home but was caught by deputies.

The Southern Ohio Drug Task Force was called in to safely dismantle the lab. According to the release, the task force found a hydrogen chloride gas generator, ether, lye, lithium metal, ammonium nitrate, and a suspected acid. Meth lab-related equipment such as tubing, mason jars and coffee filters were also found in the home.

Davis is being held in the Scioto County Jail in lieu of $41,00 bail.

The case will be forwarded to the next Scioto County Grand Jury.
