ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- An Athens County man was arrested Wednesday evening in the Bean Hollow area after nearly 20 pounds of marijuana was seized from a residence in the presence of an infant, according to information from Sheriff Patrick Kelly.
Phil W. Bell, 33, was charged with cultivation and trafficking of marijuana. He was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
The Narcotics Enforcement Team seized the marijuana after executing a search warrant at the residence. Earlier, a sheriff’s detective saw marijuana on the front porch of the residence.
During the search of the home, chemicals believed to be the property of Ohio University was located -- along with a large number of master keys, also property of Ohio University.
Bell likely will face charges by Ohio University, according to the sheriff. Children Services was notified because the marijuana was being cultivated in the presence of an infant child.
