GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A two-state chase that included a rammed police cruiser ends with the driver arrested.

The pursuit started a little after 9:30 Thursday night in Henderson, W.Va. according to Gallipolis Police.

They say Henderson Police tried to stop a driver, and the driver took off.

The chase then crossed into Gallipolis, Ohio, and onto 4th Avenue where a Gallipolis Police officer deployed stop sticks in an attempt to stop the driver. Police say the driver blew a tire after hitting the stop sticks, but continued on, turning on Vine Street where he rammed a police cruiser. From there the driver continued on to 1st Avenue and finally near City Park he stopped and surrendered to police.

Jonathan Beaver, 31, of Huntington, was arrested and charged with fleeing and assaulting a police officer.

Police discovered that Beaver had an outstanding warrant out of Mason County, W.Va. for operating a clandestine drug lab.

Gallipolis Patrolman Joe Carter was in the cruiser that was hit. Chief Clinton Patterson tells WSAZ.com that Carter was taken to Holzer Medical Center with minor injuries, where he was treated and released.
