SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a prescription pad and attempting to have a prescription filled at a Portsmouth pharmacy, according to information from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.
Brian K. Carver, 35, of Portsmouth, is charged with deception to obtain dangerous drugs and forgery. He is being held without bond and is expected to be arraigned at a later date in Common Pleas Court.
Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a call from a doctor’s office in Wheelersburg, Ohio, explaining that a patient showed up and was given a urine test which he failed. He was dismissed as a patient. After the man left, the doctor's office staff noticed a prescription pad was missing.
Charges were presented to a grand jury, an indictment warrant was obtained, and Carver was arrested during a traffic stop on Monday.
