GLOUSTER, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man has been taken for a mental evaluation after the Sheriff says he admitted to opening fire in his neighborhood.

Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly says about 2:45 a.m. Monday deputies were called to a home on Kochis Road in Glouster.

Kelly says Danny Guseman, 56, fired 15 rounds in his home and throughout the neighborhood.

The Sheriff says Guseman told deputies that someone entered his home with a weapon, so he got out his gun. Deputies say there was no signs of forced entry, or evidence that anyone else was in the home.

Deputies say Guseman acted recklessly with his gun, inducing panic and risking the public's safety and welfare.

One vehicle was hit by a bullet. No injuries were reported.

The Sheriff says investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the incident.

Guseman was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

The incident is still under investigation.
