PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two suspected drug dealers were arrested Friday after one led officers on a chase that ended in a crash, Portsmouth Police say.
Robert Clarke faces several charges, including drug trafficking, drug possession and possessing criminal tools.
Police say they executed a search warrant at a Portsmouth area motel and found 30 grams of heroin. The drugs had a street value of nearly $4,000. Officers also found digital scales, a cutting agent and a device used to press heroin.
Also arrested was Latasia Harris, 37, of Port Huron, Mich. She faces the same charges as Clarke.
Officers say Clarke had about $750 cash on him when he was arrested.
Police say on Friday morning they tried to pull over Clarke, but he continued driving away. Clarke eventually crashed into another driver at the intersection of 21st Street and Sunrise Avenue. The impact sent that car into an officer's cruiser.
The officer was not hurt, and the driver of the other car had only minor injuries.
Officers say tips from the public helped lead them to the suspects.
