Man in Custody Following Convenience Store Robbery

JACKSON, Ohio (WSAZ) – One person has been taken into custody in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Jackson, Ohio.

Jackson Police say the robbery happened at the Quick Stop on Broadway Street just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.

The clerk told officers that a man wearing a hoodie and jeans came into the store, brandished a gun and told the clerk to get down on the floor.

Police say as the suspect reached for the money in the register, the clerk shut the register drawer. The suspect then fled the store.

A short time later, Jackson Police say they took a man and woman from the Oak Hill area into custody. The woman was released flowing questioning.

Police say charges are pending against the man.
