Ohio Highway Patrol Warns of Phone Scam

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is warning residents of a phone scam.

According to OHP, residents have received calls, using the Patrol's name in an attempt to obtain funds for OVI checkpoints.

OHP says they do not solicit for money.

Due to several complaints, OHP has opened an investigation into the scam.

If you have received one of these calls, you are asked to call Lieutenant Taulbee at 740-286-4141.
