CINCINNATI, Oh (AP) - A Roman Catholic priest in Cincinnati has been ordered into custody following his indictment on a charge of taking a 10-year-old boy across state lines for sex.
Federal magistrate judge Stephanie Bowman issued the order Thursday against Rev. Robert Poandl of the Cincinnati-based Glenmary Home Missioners.
An indictment in Cincinnati federal court Wednesday accuses Poandl without listing specifics of taking the boy on Aug. 3, 1991.
In 2010, a West Virginia judge dismissed charges against Poandl that accused him of sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy while the two visited a Roane County, West Virginia church in 1991.
In February Glenmary said it had relieved Poandl of ministerial duties in three Georgia communities and asked him to return to the Glenmary residence in Cincinnati.
