Rider Killed when ATVs Collide on Scioto County Road

SCIOTO COUNTY (WSAZ) --. The Ohio Highway Patrol says alcohol is believed to be a factor in a deadly ATV accident in Scioto County.

Troopers say two ATVs, traveling south on Arion Road in Union Township, collided with each other near Carpenter Road about 1:30 Sunday morning.

Each of the riders was ejected in the crash.

William Baker, 43, of McDermott, was pronounced dead at a Portsmouth hospital.

The rider of the other ATV, Michael Hertenstein, suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
