UPDATE: Teen Dead in Crash in Athens County, Ohio; Names Released

UPDATE 8/13/13 @ 5:35 p.m.
ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A teenager is dead and two others were injured in a crash in the Chauncey area Tuesday.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. on Route 33, just past Route 682.

WOUB reports that Kendall Dawn Sweaney, 17, of McArthur, went through the stop sign off Route 682 and was hit by an oncoming truck on Route 33.

Ohio Highway Patrol says she died at the scene.

According to WOUB, OHP says Sweaney's passenger, Ashley Nicole Fausnaugh, 17, of Hamden, was taken to a local hospital.

They also report that the driver of the truck, John W. Miller, 56, of Athens, was also taken to the hospital.

No word on either of their conditions.

No charges are pending in the case.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. on Route 33, just past Route 682 in Chauncey.

WOUB reports that a 17-year-old girl died in the crash.
They also report that OHP says the accident happened when the teen ran a stop sign and was hit by an oncoming truck.

OHP tells WSAZ.com that the driver died at the scene.

A female passenger in the car and the driver of the truck were both taken to the hospital. No word on their conditions.

The name of the victim's have not been released.
