UPDATE: Name Released in 31st Street Bridge Fatal Motorcycle Crash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police have released the name of the man killed in a motorcycle crash on in the 31st Street Bridge in Huntington Sunday morning.

Vickers Shore, 50, of Morehead, Ky., died in the 11:25 a.m. accident.

Investigators say Shore was coming off the exit ramp when he failed to make the turn, hit the wall and was thrown from his bike over the bridge.

His body was found about 50 feet below the bridge in some brush.

Police have not released why Shore crashed, but they say alcohol is a possible factor. The crash remains under investigation.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The 31st Street Bridge in Huntington is back open following a fatal motorcycle crash.

Huntington Police tell WSAZ.com a man was killed after hitting a wall on the bridge.

Officers say he then fell off his bike, landing in some bushes, several hundred feet below the bridge.

The victim's name has not yet been released. No word on what caused the crash.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was killed Sunday morning when he was thrown from his motorcycle while driving on the 31st Street Bridge in Huntington.

Huntington Police say the man crashed after he struck a wall on the bridge. Officers say he then fell off his bike, landing in some bushes, several hundred feet below the bridge.

The Proctorville, Ohio entrance to the bridge is closed.

No word on when it will reopen.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a motorcycle crashed on the bridge just before 11:30 Sunday morning.

Police are not releasing the condition of the driver at this time.

No word on how long the bridge will be closed.

Police are asking drivers to take an alternate route.
