PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Police say they have arrested the man who broke into a woman’s home while she was asleep and not only stole electronics, her checkbook, and purse, but her car.
The break-in happened early Sunday morning on Grant Street in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Police charged Eric Brown, 33, of Portsmouth with burglary, grand theft auto and two counts of breaking and entering.
Police say they were able to arrest Brown after he tried to use the woman’s credit card at a store in the New Boston and gave his ID to the clerk..
Investigators also say that during questioning, Brown confessed to two recent break-ins at the Speedway on Gallia Street.
Brown is in the Scioto County Jail.
