PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- It's a dream job come true for one man in our region.
Monday, Christopher Prater was sworn in as a firefighter for the City of Portsmouth.
Prater says he's wanted to be a firefighter since he was a child. He says its because he wanted to make a difference in people's lives.
"I've been raised to believe that life is bigger than yourself and I think there's no other job in the world that you have more fulfillment than being a firefighter, helping other people," said Prater.
Prater spent two years as a volunteer firefighter, and a year with the Porter Township Fire Department, where he got to work with his father, before joining Portsmouth Fire Department.
