UPDATE 7/10/13 @ 6:30 p.m.
SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- An illegal immigrant accused of raping at least three children will not be getting out of jail anytime soon.

Anselmo Soria was in Municipal Court in Portsmouth, Ohio, Wednesday. He pleaded not guilty to a rape charge, and his bond was set at $200,000. But the Sheriff’s Office says even with the bond, Soria will be staying in jail because of his status as an illegal immigrant.

The investigation into the case is just beginning after a 16-year-old girl came forward Monday and said Soria had been raping her for years.

Now, Sheriff’s Office investigators are working to locate any other possible victims.

"When you're dealing with any type of sexual assault, they can find their victims many places,” Detective Jodi Conkel said. “You know, a lot of times when it does hit the news other victims could come forward. At this point, we don't know. Could he have found them in the community, in the neighborhood, other places he went? You know, that's just questions we don't know right now."

Soria has been in the country at least 16 years. He’s from Mexico and an illegal immigrant. He is married to a legal U.S. citizen, but never filed his paperwork to become one himself.

The Sheriff’s Office says he used multiple fake IDs to maintain his appearance as a legal immigrant. He was not employed.
