PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) – A Portsmouth man recently indicted by a grand jury for drug trafficking has been arrested on that charge and other drug charges.
Members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force arrested Micah Smith, 36, Tuesday night during a traffic stop.
Police Chief Robert Ware and Sheriff Marty Donini say during the arrest, officers found 61 grams of crack cocaine and $1,445 in cash on Smith. Investigators say the crack cocaine has an estimated street value of $6,100.
In addition to the felony drug trafficking charges listed in the indictment, Smith was also charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine.
Smith is being held in the Scioto County Jail without bail.
