PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Portsmouth Police are searching for a man they say shot another man Tuesday night.
According to a press release from the Portsmouth Police Department, officers are searching for Micah Smith, of Portsmouth, in connection with a shooting.
The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 14th and Union Streets in Portsmouth, Ohio. According to the release, when officers got to the scene they found a 21-year-old man with gun shot wounds to his upper thighs.
The man told police that Smith was the one that shot him, according to the release.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Smith, but have been unable to find him.
According to the release, Smith is described as having a shaved head, 5'6" tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
It is believed that the victim was shot with a hand gun that was loaded with shotgun-style buckshot ammunition, according to the release.
The victim was transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
