GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The investigation into the death of a 22-year-old sailor is still leaving officers with some unanswered questions.

According to a release from the Gallipolis Police Department, Steven Perry was found dead in an apartment at 151 Upper River Road Sunday.

Police say Perry got into an altercation Saturday night in the 2 1/2 alley by the Municipal Parking lot.

Perry was an active sailor in the U.S. Navy. Police say he was home on leave after returning from an eight-month deployment in the Persian Gulf. He was scheduled to return to service in the next couple of weeks.
