UPDATE: Seven Vehicle Crash Reported along U.S. 23 in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- U.S. 23 just north of Portsmouth is back open following a seven vehicle crash Thursday morning.

Dispatchers with the Ohio Highway Patrol say it appears black ice caused the pileup.

The accident happened near the 3 mile marker, this is just south of Rosemount, about 8 a.m.

Dispatchers say there were a couple of minor injuries.

The highway reopened just after 10 a.m.

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- All four lanes of U.S. 23 just north of Portsmouth is closed due to a seven vehicle crash.

Dispatchers with the Ohio Highway Patrol say it appears black ice caused the pileup.

The highway is closed near the 3 mile marker, this is just south of Rosemount. The accident is also in a construction zone.

Dispatchers say there were a couple of minor injuries.

The accident was reported about 7:50 a.m.

The highway could be closed for another hour. Wreckers are now headed to the scene to remove the vehicles.
