PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Scioto County Sheriff says the arrest of three people this week likely solved a crime spree that hit several neighborhoods in Franklin Furnace.
Sheriff Marty Donini says on Tuesday several residents in the Napoleon Lane and Riverview Lane areas called his office to report their sheds were broken into and items stolen.
Donini says on Wednesday detectives recovered most of the stolen property. The items included a generator, tools and other items.
He says detectives went to a trailer in the 200 block of Northwood Avenue that belonged to two of the people arrested. Inside they found marijuana, meth, drug paraphernalia, and suboxone.
The Sheriff says at a vacant trailer next door, that was previously occupied by one of those arrested, they found evidence of meth making.
Doniini says investigators also recovered two stolen vehicles.
Timothy L Stapleton, 25, of, Franklin Furnace, was arrested and charged with felony breaking & entering and misdemeanor theft.
Jesse Stapleton, 28, of, Franklin Furnace, was arrested on a probation violation warrant out of Portsmouth Municipal Court
Joshua D Horner, 26, of Portsmouth, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for grand theft auto, and another warrant out Adams County.
