Suspicious Death Now Ruled as Homicide; Two Men Arrested

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A suspicious death has now been ruled a homicide, and two men are now in custody.

Joseph D. Plymale, 27, of Springfield Township has been charged with murder, aggravated robbery, weapons under disability, theft and theft of weapons.

Christopher W. Bowman of Green Township has been charged with complicity to commit aggravated robbery, complicity to commit theft and receiving stolen property.

Both men were arrested in connection with the murder of John Sheets, 58. His family asked them to check on him when he hadn't been seen for several days.

Deputies found Sheets' body Wednesday, at his home on Wray Road. Deputies say he died from a gunshot wound to his upper back.

Both Bowman and Plymale will be arraigned in court.
