LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – Investigators have released the names of the two people hurt in an ATV crash Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Township Road 250 near the intersection with Private Drive 1402 about 3:45 p.m.
Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said a school bus was traveling up the hill and the ATV going down the hill in a bend.
The driver of the ATV swerved to miss the bus, went off the road, and hit a barbed wire fence.
The Ohio Highway Patrol says Ashley Bradshaw, 15, of Ashland, was riding on the back of the ATV. Bradshaw was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, where she is listed in stable condition
The driver, Charles Maddix, 29, of South Point, was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he was treated and released.
No one on the bus was hurt.
Troopers say a school bus was traveling up the hill and an ATV, which a witness said was being driven by a man, was going down the hill in a bend.
The driver of the ATV swerved to miss the bus and hit a post and went off the road. The teen was riding on the back of the ATV and was flown to the hospital.
There was no word on their condition.
The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
