ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Three people from Portsmouth, Ohio were arrested Thursday night on charges connected with an undercover drug buy.
According to the Boyd County Sheriff's Department, Josh Smith, 33, and Alana Greene, 21, drove Herbert Orr, 42, to a fast food restaurant in Ashland where they say Orr sold three grams of heroin to an undercover officer.
Investigators say after the sale, Orr got back into the car, which headed for the 12th Street bridge back into Ohio. Two deputies pulled over the car on the bridge and arrested all three suspects.
The deputies were assisted by the Kentucky State Police and Ohio Highway Patrol in the arrests. They report finding several syringes, illegal drugs, and money inside the car.
Orr is charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith and Greene are charged with complicity to trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects are being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.
